도시들과 전세계 나라들은 코로나바이러스 확산을 늦추기 위해 주민들에게 집에 머무르라고 요청하고 있다. 차가 도로에 더 적게 다니고, 공중에는 더 적은 비행기가 날고 있으며, 많은 회사들과 공장들 역시 문을 닫았기 때문에 공기오염이 줄었다는 것은 전혀 놀랄만한 것이 아니다.

표현연습

with+명사+pp/ing/adj = ~때문에/~하면서/~한 채로

With many businesses and factories closed as well, it should come as no surprise / that air pollution levels have dropped.

With를 because 뒤 명사를 주어로 pp는 be+pp로 바꾸어 보면, 평소에 많이 쓰던 아래와 같은 문장이 됩니다. 

=Because many businesses and factories are closed as well

"많은 회사들과 공장들이 문을 닫았기 때문에"
