[문학장치] Literary Device #1 - Metaphor(은유법) & Simile(직유법)

by Mr. Write 2021. 9. 26.

Metaphor(은유법) & Simile(직유법)

Metaphor(은유법)Simile(직유법)와 함께 문학 작품에 가장 빈번히 등장하는 literary device(문학장치)입니다.

Simile는 "like/as"(~과 같이)를 써서 비교하는 반면에

She is like an angel. (Simile)

She is an angel. (Metaphor)

"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving."

(Albert Einstein)

“But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?

It is the East, and Juliet is the sun!

from Romeo and Juliet (William Shakespeare)

"Juliet is the sun!"

"I wandered lonely as a cloud that floats on high o’er vales and hills."

from The Daffodils (William Shakespeare)
