요한복음 1:6절부터 9절까지는 NIV 번역본이 아닌 CJB로 대신합니다. CJB는 Complete Jewish Bible의 약자로 번역자가 유대인이어서 유대인 정서를 잘 반영한 번역본이 아닐까 합니다. 그래서 요한복음 1:6절부터 9절까지는 KJV, CJB, 개역한글을 비교하면서 공부할 것입니다. 9절 이후에는 다시 NIV로 돌아 오겠습니다. 한편 KJV를 보는 이유는 최초의 영어 완역본으로 1611년 초판 출판 이후에 오자 정도만 개정이 되고 내용이 크게 개정된 적이 없어 신뢰할만하기 때문입니다. 그렇다고 저는 KJV Only 주의자가 아닙니다. 말씀은 한 구절이라도 이해한 만큼 실천하는 것이 중요하기 때문입니다. 어떤 번역본이든지 말씀을 잘 이해하고, 실천하는 것이 더 중요합니다.
