[영작표현#15] In comparison with ~과 비교해 보자면

 

In comparison with는 when compared with와 같은 의미로 "~과 비교해 보자면", "~과 비교해 봤을 때"로 쓰입니다.  두 가지를 비교할 때 유용한 표현이다.

 

주의할 것은 Compared to/with는 약간 다른 표현이지만 In comparison to로는 쓰지 않습니다.

 

In comparison with 뒤에는 비교 대상이 오며 사람/사물 다 쓸 수 있다.

 

 

In comparison with the weather in Vancouver, that in Toronto is cold. 
밴쿠버 날씨와 비교해 보자면, 토론토 날씨가 춥다.

 

Even writing articles is nothing in comparison with coding.
심지어 신문기사 쓰는 것은 코딩과 비교해 봤을 때 아무 것도 아니다.

 

The tallest buildings in Toronto appear to be small in comparison with those in Seoul.
토론토의 가장 높은 건물들은 서울의 건물들과 비교해 보자면 작게 보인다.

 

My new apartment is so quiet and clean in comparison with my last one.
내 새 아파트는 이전 아파트와 비교해 보면 아주 조용하고 깨끗하다.
